This plane was made by Lamb and Brownell in New Bedford, MA between 1869-73. The plane has been used and has some wear, but it is still usable. It's 26in long overall with a 2 1/2in wide double iron. The blade and chipbreaker were both made by Samuel Newbould in Sheffield. The blade is especially long and clean. It has no pitting on the back. There are some small checks in the body that are cosmetic flaws only. It has a nice lignum strike at the toe. The biggest flaw is a long chip out of the top of the horn. Nothing exceptional, just a solid worker. $50

This plane has a solid boxwood body with a beech tote and wedge. The boxwood has aged to a deep golden color. Because it's boxwood, it does have some small checks. The tote is in great shape. It's a true rarity. $85

This plane has no evidence of use. It's a later Marples machine-made plane. It's unusual in that it's bare beech, never oiled. The original decal is bold and bright. It's probably more of a collector's item or display piece than a working plane, though you could do some final fitting to get it into working condition. $65
