This brace was made by the Backus Mfg. Co of Williamsport, PA. It's stamped with Backus' Nov 5, 1872 patent date on the frame as well as the model number 10 which is shown in the 1892 catalog. It has some patina but no damage and still works perfectly. It's a simple non-ratchet brace capable of almost any job. It's also somewhat unusual and I think quite good-loking. $28

This is an early example patented Nox 19. 1891. It has usable set of bits in the magazine handle. This model uses X shank bits with the split two jaw chuck. It will not work with later dimple-shank bits. It's a handy tool to quickly bore small holes. $15
