This is an early example with the 8/3/1897 patent date on the bed, B and S casting marks on the bed, and an early arched logo blade. It's 7in long with a 1 3/8in wide blade. The lever cap is japanned, not nickel plated as most are. It's seen a lot of use but remains in good working order. Somehow it survived without any cracks near the mouth which most examples have. The adjusting wheel has not stripped out and is still accurate. The blade has some wear but is clean and has plenty of life left. It's a good solid working example, not a collector's item. $40

This plane was made by Stanley for the Bridgeport Tool Co. in St. Louis. Both the blade and toe of the plane are custom-marked. It looks like an 1890s/early 1900s plane based on the features. The plane is in very good condition with only some light wear. The sole is excellent, as are the knob and tote. The blade is long, clean, and free of pitting where it matters. It's a solid worker jack plane for those who appreciate wood-bottom planes. $35

This plane was made for EC Simmons by Ohio Tool and sold under the Keen Kutter brand. It's a typical Ohio bench plane in terms of quality and design. It has some light wear, some discoloration, but no damage. The japanning is around 80% or so. The knob and tote are both free of damage. The blade is long and decently clean, absolutely usable. A bargain working jointer plane.. not quite the quality of a Stanley from the same era but usable and much less expensive. $90
