The P27 Hand Saw

The P-27 was the low end of the Perfection Series of saws. This saw should probably be classified as a "second-line" model as it down't mention Harvey Peace, nor the Vulcan Saw Works anywhere. These saws have a rather large nib relative to their size, and a large number stamped in the heel of the saw designating the number of TPI.

I have two examples of this saw:

The first saw (top in picture above) is an older model with split (spanner) saw nuts. The etching is exaclty as depicted in the catalog above. The etching is light, but visible:

An interesting feature is that the front and back of the saw nuts are stamped with a decorative pattern. I don't know if this was an owner-modification or if it was done in the factory.

The second example I have is a later saw with the usual saw nuts and a different, though illegible etch
